ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS – OUT OF POCKET AND MEDICAID
Nathalie is a graduate from Liberty University and enjoys integrating her faith into her counseling approach. She is provisionally licensed as a Resident in Mental Health Counseling, pursuing full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). For that purpose, she is completing her required clinical hours under the supervision of Sarah Bishop, LPC, CSAC, MAC (license # 0701004634). She worked as a pediatric registered nurse for many years and is still licensed in the state of Virginia (# 0001293994). She worked in group-homes and has experience with at-risk teenagers and sex-trafficked adolescents. She is a certified SYMBIS and PREPARE AND ENRICH premarital and marital facilitator. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy and is currently, seeking certification with EMDRIA. This approach allows her to help clients let go of their traumatic past and to learn to live in the present. She is passionate about every client and their unique needs and wants to provide a safe place for them to share their struggles. With a Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic approach, she strives for her clients to see their own individual worth and value by helping them to identify and change their negative thought patterns. She longs for her clients to learn new and healthy life-skills, which include communication skills, and hopes that these tools will assist them in managing their lives and personal emotional well-being better.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 9 kids. She serves at Thomas Road Baptist Church at Freedom Ministries, a large healing and recovery 12-step ministry. She used to facilitate Divorce Care at a different church. She also likes to cook, garden, and work on house projects, crafts, and sews for her family and Virginia Christmas Spectacular at her church.
